We believe in bodily autonomy. Today's ruling will not stop what we already know: people deserve access to healthcare and we must fight at all levels to protect the right to receive an abortion. If you are wondering how you can support people seeking abortion healthcare, you can donate to the Carolina Abortion Fund. They do on the ground work to get people connected with care providers, organize transport, and provide support: www.carolinaabortionfund.org/donateOrganizers and reproductive justice activists will be gathering today in downtown Raleigh. Join them at Bicentennial Plaza at 5:30 p.m.Bring plenty of water, a sign, and some friends. Check in with each other, and make it known that abortion is healthcare! ... See MoreSee Less

After today's budget meeting and the passing of the FY2023 budget, we want to say that acknowledging community concerns is not enough. If funding is not reallocated to meet the needs of city workers who have demanded $22/hr, then we are not supporting the people who make this city run.Additionally, we support the efforts of Refund Raleigh Freedom Committee and city workers and condemn any claims that their work is "inappropriate." These are activists who are speaking out against police brutality and the need to reinvest funding into our community.#ralpol #refundraleigh #bradley4raleigh ... See MoreSee Less

Sign up to speak at the next City Council meeting!! Please sign up by Friday at 5 pm using the link below:forms.gle/Wjhy2UTzqStijepy7The Raleigh City Council just proposed their new budget for Fiscal Year 2023 — it includes a 12% starting salary increase for the police, while they allow wages to stay stagnant and most working people cannot afford to live in this city. We demand a say in what they do with our tax dollars! On Tuesday, June 7th, City Council will hold its first public hearing on this budget. This is our moment to share one message: INVEST IN CITY WORKER WAGES and COMMUNITY SAFETY, NOT MORE POLICE VIOLENCE!STAND WITH US, WEAR BLACK, AND DEMAND Our Demands:1) Raise the minimum wage of Raleigh City Workers, the workers who make our city run, to $22/hr – the same minimum wage they proposed to give to police. 2) Create a no-police crisis response initiative modeled after the extremely successful Denver STAR program, which after 6 months, responded to 2,700 crisis calls, no police violence, and zero arrests. Let’s fight to keep our Raleigh community safe together! ... See MoreSee Less
